Stainless Steel Crowns

Steel crowns are pre-made crowns that are used to cover and protect baby teeth. The reason that stainless steel crowns are used is because the material they are made of is very durable and can last a long time. Stainless steel crowns are used when severe damage has been done to the tooth and requires a cover, the crown has been broken or fractured and cannot be removed, or children have a high rate of dental caries. When it is time for the baby teeth to fall out, the stainless steel crown will fall out with it. It does not affect the growth of permanent teeth in any way.
